Join MiZU at SNOWMISSION 2013 this weekend! March 19th, 2013

On Friday and Saturday March 22nd and 23rd, the SNOWMISSION will be back at Parc du Mont-Comi near Rimouski in Quebec, Canada for its 8th edition. One of the province best snowboard event! A lot of everything for everyone: a brand new course design, many brands for the 2014 products demo, kids snowboard initiation, several free and diverse activities and of course the after-party. In brief, it’s a complete snowboard lifestyle weekend based on fun and authenticity.

SNOWMISSION is among the most awaited event of the snowboard season in Quebec. More than 5 000 peoples are expected to come and check out a hundred men and women’s riders competing and pushing the game boundaries once again. Always hosting with one of the most impressive course, the organization has developed three new sections especially built for the competition. In seven years, it’s the first time the SNOWMISSION team reveals the course plan, which is available on the event official Facebook page.

Thanks to the sponsors and the specialized media coverage, more and more snowboarders are visiting from multiple areas. Again for 2013, riders from the whole Quebec province, Eastern and Western Canada will be entering the contest. The SNOWMISSION is always a good place to discover emerging talents going head to head with some of the regulars like LNP, Louif Paradis, Frank April, Anto Chamberland, Jason Dubois and the Reid brothers.

The purses are considerable again for this edition totalizing $15 000 in cash money. For men’s first place, a $7 000 check and a Shakedown semi-finals ticket will be hand out. The competition will pay from $3 000 to $500 in between 2nd and 5th places. The event will still pay top 3 positions for women giving out $1 000 to the greatest contender. Best tricks of both sexes will reward $500 and a Shakedown rail jam invitation for men’s.

It is always advantageous to get to the SNOWMISSION early on, and this year our early birds guests won’t be disappointed with a special bonus: in association with Alternative, Red Bull will launch the festivities with a custom event named “Hang 5”: a hand plant friendly competition with a dj, an MC and judges where the winner will cash in $2000.

Finally, The SNOWMISSION wouldn’t be without the after-party. For this edition, RVCA & Etnies are presenting Dj FUNK (Redbull) preceded by We Are Wolves, a Canadian indie rock band in an all ages’ formula.

For full details of the event schedule and our partners, please visit , also the facebook page, which are source of daily news:

It is our mission statement year after year to put all the possible efforts in order to produce a high quality event. For us, it’s imperative to pursue promoting snowboarding as sport and lifestyle and create a true enjoyable environment during the event.
